The Vintage Kart Club of America (VKCA) represents karts manufactured during the early eras of kart production. Karts acceptable for participation are identified in these rules and in the VKCA Mission Statement. The philosophy of VKCA is simple. Safety and responsible conduct of each participant are the fundamental elements of club participation.

Continued non compliance with the rule will be brought to the attention of V.K.C.A officials or board members in attendance.
 Helmets shall not be damaged. Conformance of helmets shall be at the discretion of the Safety Director.
 Helmets of novice and rookie drivers shall be identified with an “X” (easily visible) on the rear of the helmet until proficiency has been shown.
 An approved neck brace is required.
 Abrasion resistant gloves are required.
 Heavy duty abrasion resistant jacket and pants required. Shorts are not allowed.
 Protective shoes, preferably high-top.
 Chest protectors recommended for children 8-15 years old.
 Kart equipment and accessories shall be in accordance with the date of manufacture and shall be subject to the approval of the Safety Director for safety and conformance.
 Safety wire or other retention device(s) are required for all brake, and steering components. Roll pins must be cotter pinned. Front and rear wheel axle nuts shall be retained by cotter or approved safety pin. Double nut retention or other retention device for some components
may be acceptable at the discretion of the safety director.
 Fire extinguishers shall be in each pit location readily available for use.
 Each driver has a responsibility to himself and the club to drive in a safe and sane manner.
 Driving of karts in the pit area, if allowed, shall be in a safe and slow manner.
